The Manali to Leh cycling tour is one of the most challenging yet rewarding cycling expeditions in the world. This mountain adventure is a mix of endurance and conviction to challenge oneself to pedal to the top of the highest mountain passes in the world.

The feel of pride that you get after conquering the world’s highest mountain passes just with a help of a humble bicycle. All it takes is willpower and the right attitude to scale the highest altitudes.

The Tour

The tour has been designed in such a way that the cyclists have the necessary leverage in the downhill sections to recover from the tenacious climbing sections of the tour. A day of stay in Manali with a rest day in the middle of the journey at Sarchu and a free relaxation day at Leh has been allocated in the tour so that you can be acclimatized to the mountain conditions and stay relaxed throughout this journey. Delivering the best camping experience with comfortable accommodations throughout the trip, supported with necessary transportation with a backup van, which shall be at disposal of all the cyclists in the group to assist in the time of need.

We work towards providing a hassle-free adventure for cyclists providing assistance in acquiring any permits if required.
The cyclists will be provided brand new High-Quality mountain bikes best suited for the said terrain for the entire expedition with complete wear and tear assistance of bikes.

The Challenge

The Expedition has one of the most beautiful landscapes on its route. The lowest mountain pass i.e. the Khardungla Pass alone is at the height of 3900 meters from the sea level, with Khardungla the Highest at 5602 meters.

Day 1


Arrival in Manali.

Relax and walk around in the city and let the body acclimatize.

Day 2

Hike in Manali

Go for a short hike and get rest because it is important to rest early on at 2000 meters. This will prepare your body for the once in a lifetime adventure you are going to have for the next few days of cycling at 5000 meters in harsh weather conditions on the world’s highest roads!
Day 3

Manali to Keylong

Post breakfast and tour briefing, we will drive to the Rohtang pass which is at 3980 meters and start our ride towards Lahual valley. As you cycle up the circuitous road along the Bhaga river, vegetation begins to turn noticeably sparse. Human habitations will be few and far between. Once in a while, you will spot a small herd of sheep in the arid landscape. This day you will have a downhill for first 30 kms and rest 36 kms will be gradual climbing for 20 kms and 7 kms of steep climbing (near Tandi) and rest kms will be rolling. We then halt in Keylong for the night.
Day 4

Camp at Deepak Tal

This day you will cover 30 kms rolling road and gradual climb. We will pass by the sleepy hamlets of Jispa and Darcha. It’s a relatively easy day of cycling, planned to help you keep the energy for the steep ascent on the following day. At night we camp at Deepak Tal and enjoy the refection of the Milky Way on the lake!
Day 5

Deepak Tal to Sarchu

The day begins with the steep ascent to Baralach La pass, the second major pass on the road to Leh. The road here will be bit rough but rewarded with a gorgeous view of the shimmering blue Suraj Tal lake. As you cross the pass at the altitude of 4891 meters (16046 ft), you enter the Great Himalayas. We end the day at Sarchu Plains, at a vast camping site with luxury tents with a hot shower and bonfire.
Day 6

Sarchu to Whisky Nullah

We leave Sarchu and begin to ride up the 21 hairpin bends of Gatta Loops. This will be challenging but every turn have the best view to motivate you to climb till Nakeela Pass, the third pass on the way to Leh. And the landscape continues to give you some breath-taking views. We end the day at Whisky Nullah on our camp site.
Day 7

Whisky Nullah to Debring

The day starts by ascending the Lachang La pass. At the altitude of 5100 meters, Whiskey Nullah to Lachang La is only 7 kms, easy uphill. Lachang La to Pang is 25 kms, downhill. After Lachang La pass, the road practically vanishes and climb down to Pang will give you the best off road cycling experience. Just another steep climb of 7 kms will take you to More plains which is a plateau at elevation of 4800 meters. This road has some of most amazing landscape and is flanked with beautiful mountains and rock formation on both sides. You may also encounters the nomads of Ladakh here! More Plains is the most captivating landscape of the tour. We will spend overnight in Camp at Debring.
Day 8

Debring to Rumptse

We ride up to Tanglang La, the highest pass on the Manali-Leh route and the second highest pass in the world at the altitude of 5360 meters. Today is the day for the treacherous climb to the second highest motorable road in the world. The first 12 km of cycling is easy. The next 8 km to the top might come with a struggle, but the view from the top is exhilarating. On one side you’ll see the Zanskar mountain range, on the other the mighty Ladakh range. The Taglung La is marked by a Buddhist chorten (reliquary monument) and prayer flags. This is the high point of this expedition. From here, we cycle down to the first village of the valley, Rumptse and enter back in civilization.
Day 9

Rumptse to Leh

We ride till a village Karo and load our bikes and drive to Leh and have a relax evening and comfy beds and visit the local market.
Day 10

Leh to Nubra Valley

We start our day cycling towards Nubra valley crossing the mighty Khardungla pass at 5359 meters altitude, the highest motorable road in the world. It will be 40 kms uphill till the top this maybe the hardest climb you have ever done on the bike but worth every single mile! After this hard climb you will enjoy the downhill in the beauty of Nubra valley!
Day 11

Back to Leh

Waking up in the Himalayan desert with a view and some two humped camels around. Enjoying the drive back to Leh, visit to Leh palace for sunset and dinner we end this amazing journey with life time memories.
Day 12

Fly to Delhi

After breakfast we drive to airport and fly to Delhi.

As the excruciating time spent on our bicycles ends here, we part ways with a souvenir for you to show your friends back home when you share your memoirs.

The Riding Party will always be accompanied by experienced riding captains followed by support and back up vehicles.
As an organizer we work closely with the team of riders even in advance to provide necessary tips, training and motivation required to complete this physically and mentally challenging feat. Simultaneously taking care of best of the high quality arrangements to make sure you enjoy each and every moment throughout this memorable journey.


Three square nutritious meals throughout the expedition every day. During the ride, the support vehicle will be packed with nutrition bars and energy drinks along with breakfast and lunch.
Breakfast: The breakfast will usually comprise of cereals, muesli or porridge followed by chapatti or local breads fulfilled with eggs or omelet.
Lunch: The lunch will an easy affair mostly packed lunch with sandwiches, both veg and egg sandwiches. Usually the mid ride nutrition is sufficed by chocolate nuts and energy bars.
Evening Meals or Dinner: Dinner will always be freshly prepared local cuisines along with chapattis and vegetable dishes paired with a local desert.


We give absolute importance to rider’s safety. All the participants will be required to wear a helmet at all times while riding. Participants will have to strictly adhere to all the safety guidelines laid by the tour captain.
The whole expedition is undertaken under the supervision of highly experienced tour captains. Riders will always have full access to the support vehicles well equipped with all the necessary emergency aid.

We work towards providing a hassle free adventure for the cyclists, we take care of all the necessary transportations and a support van shall be at disposal of all the cyclists in the group to assist in the time of need.
